Gunbeard's Crusader Review
Here's where i get to indulge in one of my little mood purchases, the Crusader. This ship combines great looks with good maneuvrability and a decent punch for low level fight and flight. The Feisty Little Blighter
First off, this ship has character. It looks great and although the turn rate isn't great, it does suit the type of ship. It carries two class 4 and four class 5 main guns, meaning you can bring some pretty solid firepower for such a little ship. The only trouble is that the ship can't handle the power drain, meaning you'll run out of energy quickly if you have heavy drain weapons.Arrr! Have at ye!
Yep, the hull is weak, yep the power systems are poor, and yeah its looks aren't everyones cup of tea. Seriously, though, the Crusader is great for low level combat and patrols. Its just one of those fun flyers that you can pick up and chug around in. At 35000 creds you're not breaking the bank, but consider if you saved up twenty thousand more, you could buy a Drake.. and for twenty thousand less, a Dagger.Summary Execution
Combat-wise this ship is good in Liberty and Bretonia systems, but don't take it too far out. Think of it as a step up from a Defender, able to hold its own against pretty much everything the inner systems can throw at it, but once you hit the outer systems its out of it's league.
Pros Cons Good Firepower Weak hull Good maneuvrability for a Heavy Fighter Turn rate can let you down vs. faster ships Looks like some kindof crayfish squid thing Poor power supply
