Drunklancer: good good, talking about the titan briefly before the hole debate thing starts for real
Johoho: titan is a big bully ship
Johoho: dont get infront of it becaus its slow so you can just go around and hit it in the ass
KnucKles: its hull strength is balanced by how slow it is in fights so your better off with the eagle really

Johoho: yes lets debate exploring systems
ItsChilli: lol i know man dont rub it in

Johoho: patrol paths are key to exporing the systems
ItsChilli: right on, you should watch where patrol paths lead to and where multiple paths come together
KnucKles: yeah coz thats usually where youll find either a jumphole or a base or something
ItsChilli: yep what he said.
Drunklancer: excellence
Johoho: i printed a sirius map and had patrol paths written on them, so maybe thats a good idea because it helped me early on until i learnt them all without using the map
ItsChilli: yeh i did that but i wrote it out cos i dont have a printer
Rhodan: admirable, Jo.
Drunklancer: i put routes and stuff on my palmtop and text files on the desktop, cos i can minimize the game when im docked and check em out, or if i cant minimize it i check the palm
ItsChilli: id like to map them out but i cant be bothered to man, by the time itd take me to do it id be in a drake already and busting some heads.
ItsChilli: ooh mister technology with his palmtop

Rhodan: I write them down sometimes, but mostly I commit them to memory.
Johoho: i think the best way to explore is to first get yourself neutral with everyone by destroying storage depots and attacking friendlies, so then you won't get troubled by pirates

Rhodan: neutrality is good but beware of limiting your choice of weapons.
Drunklancer: okay folks, keep it in explore & learn territory, reputation debate will be later on.

Johoho: i set examples for them to follow because they are lazy
KnucKles: hahaha NO.
ItsChilli: you get neutral with everyone like he said, then you follow the white patrol paths and look for where they meet in one spot, then dock at the secret base or go through the hole, basically.
Johoho: knuckles go explore and learn inyour trousers
ItsChilli: johann im shocked.
KnucKles: hahahaha
Drunklancer: lol. okay.. so the basics are: look for patrol paths, look out for pirates, make sure your reps are good for the areas youll be going.
KnucKles: you got to dock evrywhere so itsin your database
Drunklancer: dock at as many things as you can to get the info on your neural net.
Drunklancer: lol same page
ItsChilli: yeah and remember that some systems might be dangerous as soon as you enter them so be prepared with bots and batts and even just to do a u-turn.

Rhodan: When starting off, missions will often take you into new territory, so take advantage of this and explore after you have accomplished your mission.
Drunklancer: and trade routes too, they help broaden your database.

ItsChilli: steve we are summarizing what we do to explore and learn stuff in FL
Drunklancer: yep we are doing that

Drunklancer: yep steve thats right

Drunklancer: go ahead all of you just summarise what youbeen sayin.Finally, the summaries..
ItsChilli: When you start out, make sure you pay close attention to patrol paths, especially when they lead into asteroid fields and dust clouds, and especially if lots of patrol routes lead to one spot.
KnucKles: dock everywhere as soon as possible and then check out all the info you get to help with trading and best path routes.
Rhodan: Observe patrol route patterns and soon you'll get in the habit of taking a 10K detour to investigate an asteroid field and find that elusive hidden base.
Johoho: If its all a big hassle to build a database just do missions and trade routes and see where that takes you, because if you pay attention to something that isnt what youre looking for you usually find it.
Drunklancer: thanks you guys, this was probably the dullest debate subject yet, so bravo for trying to make it interesting, next up (i hope) is reputation.
