Choice's Hammerhead Review

It's a flying weapons rack that looks like Boba Fett's first ride. The Hammerhead is often forgotten when it comes to choosing a VHF. Shame on you! This flying gun-platform will surprise you with its ability to hit fast and hit hard.

Bounty Killer
It fits two Class 8 and four Class 9 forward guns, with a rear-firing turret that sadly isn't much use. The power systems are pretty average, so if you're fitting top-level weapons on this baby, make sure you shoot in short bursts and only when it counts. Still, at 350,000 credits, you're getting a lot of bang for your buck, so quit complainin'!

Always the bridesmaid, never the favorite VHF
7900 hull strength is a cut above the Valkyrie but a fair bit shy of the Eagle, giving the Hammerhead a difficult job when it comes up against formations of VHFs. The Class 9 Shield affords some decent protection, but the large side-profile of the Hammerhead makes it easy to hit from all angles except head-on and rear-on. The 70 cargo and 49 bots & batts make this a pretty decent fightin' freighter if you fancy mixing it up with missions every now and then, so the Hammerhead manages to be a pretty versatile beast.

Summary
The Hammerhead's fast turns and heavy firepower can get the jump on a Class 10 that isn't expecting you to be a tough opponent. It's great fun to fly and is almost always underestimated, so get out there and get one, fit it with shield killers and missiles and make your opponents sweat. This baby deserves more attention, and while everyone else is sporting their boring cardboard box ships (read: EAGLES) and flying lego-bricks (TITANS), you're sailing along in a sharp-looking gunmetal masterpiece. Flaunt it, baby!
