Steve's Mule Review

The Mule is a freighter than is so rarely used by players that I make a point of choosing it just to cheese people off. Running freight in a Mule is a brave and stylish choice that will rarely go unnoticed in a server full of players bored of flying the same old junk all the time. Dare to be different!

ZOMG a freighter!!11
But look at how it turns! See? Not too bad for a flying junkheap. Yes, it is ugly, but when you're chugging around in your Mule you have a certain atmosphere about you. Players just don't see that choice of ship very often, so they're more likely to find you amusing than shoot the heck out of you. What they might not realize is that in this freighter, you can shoot the heck back.

A Fat Bloodhound?
Yes, the Mule is to the Bloodhound what the Rhino is to the Starflier, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The cargo bay can carry 90 units, and the armaments are great.. you have two class 3 and two class 4 guns, with two class 3 and two class 4 turrets, with only one of those turrets (gun 6) not firing directly forward. This gives you seven forward firing weapons, three class 3 and four class 4, with a turret for side and rear attacks. Thats quite a lot of firepower for a Liberty freighter, and more than enough to deal with transports and storage depots quickly and easily.

Summary
The Mule is a great starting freighter for pirates in and around Liberty space. It's no match for the outer systems, so if you want to survive everything Sirius can throw at you, look elsewhere. The Mule can turn well, shoot well and survive the inner systems competently. It is a characterful choice that rewards careful usage, so go ahead and use it.. carefully!
