Lovable Rogue's Stiletto Review

The Stiletto is nouvelle cuisine for the battle-hungry, jewellery for jousting, or a handbag full of dynamite. For my debut review, I bed a rare ship found in only one place in all the systems. Enjoy.

First Impressions of a Mid-Range Masterpiece
On the surface, the Stiletto appears striking. Not a Dagger, not a Sabre, but somewhere inbetween. It is a Series Y Border Worlds Heavy Fighter, yes, but it is art. Looks aside, when you seat yourself in the plush interior of this wild creature, you glance over the equipment panels to find the usual heavy fighter gun setup.. but this time there are two class 6 and four class 7 guns, with no turret. Better than the usual class 6 heavy fighter, you think, yet not the level of the class 8s. At least there is no turret to fuss with.

Beautiful, yet Impractical
The Stiletto is not famous for its deadly ability in combat, and this is realized in full and living color once you dogfight against an enemy or, God forbid, enemies. Put simply, my surly and impatient brethren, the Stiletto's turn rate is a touch slow, and coupled with its large side-on profile, makes dogfighting a matter of hit and run, drift and turn, hit again. However, the hull strength is 4900, so you can take some punishment, and the six forward firing guns give the Stiletto great firepower for its class. A divebomber, not a dogfighter.

Summary
The tune of 143000 credits can be a hard one to bear once you realize you wanted a fine semi-automatic pistol and instead bought a diamond-studded revolver. Yes, the Stiletto fights the old-fashioned way, with an old-fashioned turn rate, but it shines for its looks and its mid-range weaponry and equipment. The hull is that-much-stronger than a class 6 fighter, the weapons are that-much-better. If you have the money to spare and are tired of the same old heavy fighters in Sirius, show them all what the Stiletto can do in the hands of a master.
