Gunbeard's Wolfhound Review

There is a ship that every pirate should respect, despite it's shortcomings. There is a ship that catches the eye as it flies past you and tears through a transport. Enough drama, i'm talking about the f&8king Wolfhound.

Ooh, looks flashy..
YES, because THIS is what flying a Wolfhound is all about. Buying this ship makes a bold statement of independence, not just because its rarely bought but because there are better ships out there that do the job easier. By choosing the Wolfhound, you are saying f&8ck off to all the munchkins out there taking 1 million cred handouts to buy an eagle with all the best gear. Oh, and you're paying 71000 credits for the privilege so be sure you've got the cash to spare.

I've wasted my money!!1111
Alright so the Wolfhound isn't the easiest ship to fly, that's outweighed by the fact that you're flying a true pirate ship. What's that? Not enough cargo space? Well yeah, I'd agree with that, but i'd also mention that 40 Cargo Units is at the top end as far as Heavy Fighters are concerned, although i would've appreciated perhaps 20 more cargo units. But seriously, despite all these faults and weaknesses, the Wolfhound ends up being fun simply because you need a sense of humor to stick with it through good times & bad.

OK so what can it do?
Three class 6 and two class 5 weapon mounts give the Wolfhound a decent punch, with a class 5 turret added for good measure, although the designers didn't have the f&8king decency to make it fire forwards. One of this ship's strong points is the fact that you can only get it at two locations in the whole of Sirius, and both of them are low to medium level pirate bases. This means that players might not be aware of the ship's statistics, giving you some vital time to scare em before they can scan you.

Summary
Alright so i've been informed that my review is mainly about being a pirate in this ship, but for f&ck's sake that's what its there for. The Wolfhound is a pretty boring ship for anything other than flying around having fun shooting things or being a pirate or something. If you want to do serious trade runs or missions pick something else ya bastards.

Pros
Cons
Very unique looking and a rare Player Ship.
Slow turn rate
Pretty cruise exhaust!
Not enough cargo space
Good firepower, despite turret not firing forward.
Poor power systems with maximum weaponry
Completes a pirate's image!
Large side profile, easy to hit
Rear view is AWFUL.
You're paying for a Class 6 Heavy Fighter, but getting one less gun than the others, due to the turret.
